Has anyone else also been experiencing high'ish latencies in the Stellenbosch area (specifically Die Boord in my case) in the evenings (around 7pm - 11pm)?

Like I've tried numerous ISPs (Afrihost, CW, Axxess & WA), and it ranges from high latencies (90ms - 1s instead of like 30ms) to high packet loss.

Ever since the MSAN upgrade my connection has been getting steadily worse, tonight I am sitting with a nice consistent 1.2s ping to Cape Town, anyone else experiencing this?

I'm reviving this thread again, since I'm again getting poor latencies in the evening.
Like sometimes it would be low 20s for a couple of minutes and then suddenly it would jump to 100-300ms and remain at a constant value.

I'm not sure what is happening here. Sometimes disconnecting the PPPoE connection and dialing it again seems to solve the issue.

My Afrihost shaped capped account is severely affected by this, which results in packet loss and massive amounts of ping jitter. My WebAfrica unshaped capped account on the other hand doesn't have packet loss or jitter, but it is also affected...

Any ideas on what can be done?

Been having the same ping issues. Usually in the evening I will get pings ranging from 300 to 2000. I'm with Telkom and live in the Eerste Rivier area.

Well, I am in Bloemfontein, might be coincidental, but this started after upgrading from 2M line, to 4M line, high ping, latency and packet loss, all this with the DSLAM/MSAN both less than 300 meters from my location. Normal 30-50 ms ping has gone to 280-320 packet loss from 0 to 3.8% -4.2%, when I just checked, barely possible to play Guild Wars 2. About only thing line is good for is downloading, which is not why I have an internet line.

Has international, gone for a ball of ****e, or is it just Telkom. Afrihost is not much better. :(

Wish, I had decent LTE, at home, then it would be bye-bye Telkom.
