High latency ~3PM till ~1AM

I live near Cape Town and have a 6meg uncapped MWEB package (data+phone). From roughly 4PM to 1AM there is often in excess of 1000ms latency on the first hop after my router. A friend on my block has the same issue.

Have you tried another ISP?
It looks like exchange congestion.
 
Well, thats when school kids get home (15:00) and when people come home (17:00).

Defiantly congested.
 
I recently had the same problem and luckily they could just move me to another exchange.

Because MWEB manage your DSL line, we can chase up line issues with Telkom on your behalf. Please PM me your MWEB account details so that I can look into this for you.

Have you tried another ISP?
It looks like exchange congestion.
