Hi.

I am posting my 2014 Gr.12 IT Practical Assignment Task (PAT) entry here so others can easily access my project in the future. The topic for the 2014 Gr.12 IT PAT was to help a non-profit organization, so I chose to help CANSA. This upload features all 3 phases of the PAT, and should be a good source of ideas/inspiration. I am also pretty sure it will serve as a good example of what you need to do with the PAT. If you need any help or would just like to chat, feel free to PM me.

NOTE: Don't just download my project and present it as your own. You will probably get caught, as I have won 2 competitions with this application.

The application was developed using Delphi (school requirement), and connects to an AWS server running a LAMP-stack. The App Overview is a 5-page summary that provides more details.

I would also really appreciate it if some of the professional developers could give me some feedback.

The Phase 1/2 PDF documents contain some artifacts due to conversion from .pub

Phase 2 (pdf): https://www.dropbox.com/s/43ogeghrvpy3a24/Phase 2.pdf?dl=0
Phase 3 (Folder with all source code): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gt5fu32rtr79knk/AACCGoftTAve3IVRPovhIuuAa?dl=0

Hope it helps!!

EDIT: If you want to access the entire app, you'll need login credentials. Just PM me and I'll create and send you a username/password pair.

Your process flow charts are an utter mess.
Its a high school project...

Man my highschool project wasn't even stable...even by modest criteria. Still...it was the best in the year and the teacher was decidedly outgunned, so still got A+.

Your PAT is very well done I must say, I am currently busy analyzing high school PATS and yours is good compared to most learners.

CAT and IT are different subjects. Depending on school, IT deals with coding with either java or Delphi. CAT is ms office suit

Brave posting your source code on here where most people are professional developers and adding that little "I have won two competitions" bit. Either you rock or you are looking for a humbling experience :D

He rocks. :D

great effort, for matric.

you dont have to worry about someone claiming that code as their own (mostly due to the fact that you have 280+ event handlers in your main form :p), well maybe another PAT student

I would suggest you read and follow the borland/embargo style guide - http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/10280

I heard there was a huge debate about this. Are schools now programming in Delphi or Java?
Depends on the school. Btw OP you're part of the CAPS syllabus, how's that going?

Thanks! It's hard to determine just how exactly I compare to my peers, but the PAT helps. The best part is talking to the other contestants at the competitions about their apps, and learning some cool new things I didn't know before.

Question: which other programming languages do you know?

I was a bit hesitant at first! But then I convinced myself that if I want to be good at the whole programming thing, I need to subject myself to all possible criticism.
