I’m relocating to Cape Town soon and will be in temporary accommodation for a while.

Are there any uncapped or high volume (e.g. 400GB/500GB) 3G/LTE deals available atm, that I would be able to do on a month-to-month basis?

I don’t want to commit to a contract as I may be in my own place within three or so months, and then I’ll get ADSL/fibre and wouldn’t want to be stuck with the remainder of a 24-month contract.

I also don’t mind buying my own 3G/LTE router to use with the data sim.

My normal monthly usage is usually up to 250GB, streaming Netflix/Youtube, downloading from Steam, etc.

I can prolly get away with 200GB a month, just don’t want to get caught short.

Telkom has a Smartbroadband Uncapped deal ongoing at R799 pm for 24 months. Doesn’t look bad, bar the fact that its on contract :D

If you're covered sounds like a good deal.

You can still cancel those contracts if you don't take the router, cancellation fee is R800.

Thanks! I also thought of buying the router cash and only doing the contract. I'll also confirm the early cancellation fee with Telkom if I take the sim/data only over a 24 month period.

Any idea what the Huawei B315 LTE router sells for? I can't seem to find a cash price on Telkom's website.

NM: Found the price on Takealot's website.
