Higher latency than usual?

I seem to have higher international latency than usual when gaming. Just wanted to find out if anyone else (particularly in Cape Town) is having similair problems, and/or if there could be any known reasons for this from the iBurst side?

The last 2 days ive been struggling with sites that doesn't load completely and i have to refresh over and over. Iam in Paarl.

In Cape Town we have had issues upstream related to the SAT 3 cable. This has resulted in redundant paths being used that have longer paths and higher latencies. The cable operators are working on resolving the issues. Apologies for any inconvenience.

ADDITIONAL: Please note that the power reconfiguration on SAT3 maintenance is taking place on Saturday 6 February 2010 (0:01 to 04:00 UTC).
Restorable traffic is not at risk and we will still experience the longer traffic path. Only after successful power reconfiguration, all restored traffic can then be normalized back to their normal routes on SAT-3 and the system is back to normal. Tentative normalization scheduled for Sunday
7 February if power has been restored to normal configuration and no shunt is detected. No downtime expected as all our links are on restoration.

ADDITIONAL: Please note that Telkom SA is conducting major maintenance on the shunt fault on Segment 14 of SAT-3, about 627 km from the ACC Beach Manhole. This maintenance will run from the 20-22 January 2010 and resume again on the 29 January to 01 February 2010 within the maintenance window
(00:01 to 04:00 UCT). Due to this maintenance, there will be intermittent high latency to London UK and Paris for the duration of this maintenance.
The latter will take place during and after the maintenance window.

This is really getting to be a bigger pain in the ass than its been for the last 2 months. SA internet needs to be sorted out already. I am having a hard time just connecting to steam (so that means I can't play MW2) and I can't patch my wow.

I want to move to a different country already
