This episode was so stupid in many ways. When bad guys leave the prison and are explicit about not being followed, what does officer dumb-dumb do? Yeah, follows 3 meters behind with an entourage of 3 cop cars. Totally not obvious mate. Then doesn't click that they're using GPS on the phone they gave him to track him further. This show turns people into domkoppe to keep the story going.

But otherwise cool series so far but it needs to end soon.

In the first episode the son is like: "Well it's hard to explain what he does..." as though he's super skilled at what he does. But then he never really does anything out of the ordinary.
 
stupidest series ever, what sort of Captain Beats up his F/O? ,F that ****, unless the twist is he is one of them?

firstly, the protocol is extremely clear, do not open the Cockpit door under any circumstances,
squawk 7500, and if this was an Israeli Jet, put them into a negative G or Parabola Course to throw the Hijackers off balance,
never open the door, get on the Ground ASAP, dont negotiate and dont let them take control or do all that weird stuff to pad out the series.

the reason hijackings aren't more common today is the strict security we now have,
and after 9/11 the Skymarshals that are deployed on many Aircraft to prevent such things from happening.
 
The series is quite nail biting but the character motivations are questionable. Intentional or just sloppy filmmaking.

So these 2 professional hitman don't bother looking in the closets which is the most likely place someone could be hiding?

Must have missed/forgot the actual kill but who is the dead passenger they took the picture of?
 
Idris has A LOT of plot armour in this series but if you suspend belief its enjoyable. That last twist at the end of Ep6 was wild

Were you not paying attention, they were going to kill his side chick if he didn't open the door and the co-pilot didn't care so he beat her up to stop her from preventing him from opening the door.

One early episode ends with a gun pointed at Idris. Then in the next episode stuff has happened and I think that's when she got shot but I don't recall seeing it either. Like it happened between episodes.

It's moot now because he's just paid the ultimate price for his reckless decision.

After the leader loaded real bullets - when Idris was fighting with the blokes at the back (when the younger brother was stabbed) - thats when she was shot as the leader headed to the back of the cabin. Sorry for my weird explanation
 
One of the funniest things I reckon is how the hijackers take advice from Idris Elba's character, like all the time! Almost like they want his approval, it’s just weird man.

This again ties up with my love/hate of the character. From epi 1 the lighty teased us his ballie is the schit, all I can see is a smooth talker. (Granted a good skill to have in this situation.)

again, the protocol is clear, a Captain almost as bad as the Costa Concordia that italian Idiot who ran the Cruise liner aground, and ran away to Eat Pizza or something.
you do not open the cockpit door, no matter who is at the door, even if there were skymarshals on board, even to them, they aren't allowed to open the door.

most cowardly Captain ever who made the wrong decision endangering everybody on board for his Side Chick.

and beating his F/O up? she would be a very Hostile witness at his trial if they ever survived.

Good point, the motivation for letting the hijackers in was rather weak.
 
It seems too coincidental that the road block miraculously took them straight to the switch spot.
Its very likely they created it themselves, so as not to raise suspicion why the back road was taken in the first place.

Complaining about the block to Daniel was just an act.

Watched a bit of the earlier episodes for the shooting of the passenger scene and Elba is like their enemy no 1 trying to take this guy out single handedly.
He'd be the first one on the list of dead passengers to send downstairs.

So strange.

Found it srange that everyone was geting ready to fight then just the convict and Idris did something, its like 200 vs 4 yet they are all scared. Did like the plot twist at the end of episode 6 though
 
Series just finished after 7 episodes


Hijack was really gripping but ends up rather feeling it isn't finished after a short 7 episodes. I guess that is what happens if you put a big movie star in the role in that you can't turn it into a long running series.

The problem with a short series like this is that there is just so many plot holes left. Guys wanting to make money on the stock market but being so ruthless they would kill anyone including holding kids hostage to make their parents do what they want as the motive is rather weak storyline. Criminals are so weak minded they kill each other or hand over their guns despite being on suicide mission and the government states they know their plot of playing the stock immediately which means those trades will be tracked and no one will profit.
A complicated Osama Bin Ladin type plot with multiple planes hijacked or some other major plot twist would have been so much more interesting.

The whole main plot of a hijack is solved by by him saving the day by telling the pilot, who thinks criminals will kill her daughter if she doesn't crash, that they will kill her daughter irrespective which makes her abort crashing. So disappointing as the minor plot twists in the movie ended up rather pointless.

I still don't understand who sent the message to the woman to go to the cockpit as they would need to know where the hijackers are on the plane to not stop her from entering the cockpit.
Why shoot the pilot dead who was sitting in business class with seat belt on when you are going to lock the door and crash the plane killing everyone?
Also never understood how all cellphones work on a plane in the air.
I was sort of hoping for a Denzel Washington movie Flight or Sully Crash landing. They did tease landing on the highway but I guess the CGI budget would have been too big for that.

The show was very gripping but was let down by its main plot and non believable storyline.
Yet another series the writers screwed up.

Elba said he would be open to return for a second series but only if it is not a hijack story line. Don't think Apple will go for that seeing the show title is Hijack and not the Negotiator.

Enjoyed the suspense for the Hijack finale but it was not neatly wrapped up. There was a whole other element that needed further exploration. Mixed bag.
