Hikvision IP Cameras bigger better?

Does the Smaller lighter camera's perform the same as the bigger heavier ones?

I currently have a DS-2CD2T42WD-I5 4 MP EXIR Bullet Network Camera, it works fine, but do not have sd card storage (and I'm stuggling to create a ftp server on my pc, to store the video / photos)

I see a similar 4MP camera that is much smaller and lighter Hikvision 4MP IR Network Bullet Camera, 2.8 mm Lens - DS-2CD2045FWD-I (2.8)
 
I have the 2042 model. It's good and clear. The only problem that I have with Hikvision is setting the damn camera up. I still can't manage to record any content to my PC when someone intrudes the line/boundary. Other than that, the quality is good.

Are you using iVMS4200?
 
Search around for ONVIF software - try a few see which one does not kill your CPU.
