Is that Hisense 32D20 good enough for simply watching DSTV on a standard decoder? Would SD actually look better than on a Full HD Samsung for example?
 
Generally SD content doesn't look good on cheaper TV's due to them having little to no post processing engines. So they pretty much display it in all it's ugliness. It's why you see Sony, Samsung and others advertising things like the Bravia Engine etc, it's the processing of the image that really outshines a lot of the cheaper brands.

but won't SD look better on a lower resolution TV than a Full HD one even with post processing. SD on my Full HD Samsung looks like something a cat spewed up especially sport on DSTV. Wondering if it would look better on a 720 32" TV like the Hisense.
 
if u have standard definition go plasma. sd content looks greeeeat! hd looks even more delicious.

yes that was the original plan but due other factors the funds aren't there now to purchase a good plasma

sure i saw one for R5999 this week. 43" samsung. ill check. go to the guzzle website. searchable pamphlets.

lol. u didnt say whats your budget. esquire has some good deals on the hisense 32" as well.

edit. family has some 32" lg led. sd dstv. horrible washed out colour. i was sitting at an angle and the picture is all horrible. i almost hugged my plasma when i got home monday night.
