Hisense 58 inch UHD TV

I would appreciate some opinions on the Hisense 58 inch UHD TV model 58N5000UW. This is being offered at what I think is a good price at R9,299 by Esquire. I am interested in purchasing a large size UHD Smart TV and this seems to fit the bill but is it really a good model to buy?
Comments please.
 
My daughter just bought a Hisence 39" and it's pretty impressive that comming from a Samsung fan boy for TVs.
In fact my next TV will not be a Samsung or secondly LG but my first choice will be Hisence.
 
I bought a Hisense 55 inch Smart TV about 8 months ago and what a disapointment, takes about 40 seconds to startup and the remote control is a slow sluggish device with a battery that only lasts only about 6 months.
The remote control has a cursor that runs across the screen which is a curse and to get rid of it you need to press the left or right arrow which immediatley advances your movie by 1 minute.
The battery goes flat because of the voice recognition control device which one never uses anyways :(

Try updating the firmware, it may address those issues. I recently bought a Hisense 65 and its incredible. Beats Samsung and LG's same offering hands down.

Thanks, when I last looked they never had any updates but now I see they do :)

If the other Hisense TV's are anything like mine, I would not touch them with a 10 foot barge pole.
Where all my remote controls batteries last for years and years, the Hisense is stone flat within 4 months and thats because of the speech recognition and so called screen mouse control.
Within no time a message flashes on the screen telling you your batteries are nearly dead, man this sucks.
I now remove the batteries after everytime I use the stupid remote :(

Hisense are really producing some quality television sets. I was always a Samsung and LG customer, but after purchasing a Hisense , I can confidently say it's up there with the best. Very impressive. As for that model you are looking to buy, 58N5000UW, is on sale at makro now for R8799... Good TV. Not ULED, but still a good TV none the less.
 
I picked up the N3 series and while it's an upgrade from my last TV (42" LG Plasma around 8 years old), the Hisense lacks a certain quality. The contrast across the screen is very dependent on where you are sitting. The side closer to me is usually a crisp, deep black, but if I look across at the other corner it seems washed out. I called out some technicians and they shrugged and told me to take it into the workshop. The Netflix App also seems quite buggy, I haven't tested it out in a while though.

I wonder if the M Series is any better.

I have the M series and I am very happy with it. In fact I chose it over both an LG and Samsung. It had the best picture and almost zero bleed.

M series is very good. The 55M7000UWG is brilliant.

Yeah, check the date of the post you are replying to! It is from last year. By now all TV's come with the new firmare "out of the box". HiSense is the best cheap TV money can buy.
