Good day gents & ladies.

I require 1st hand info & detailed specs of the Hisense Infinity Pure 1 phone, can`t seem to find full detailed specs & constructive review on the net.

What`s the DPI ,Camera quality etc like.

your help will be greatly appreciated.

Had a look at it last week. Dual Sim, Quad Core 1.5Ghz, 5.5 screen (not sure about the PPI but was decent looking), 4GB storage memory (can take memory card up to 32GB) and 2500mAh battery. Nice looking phone only drawback is the 1GB memory and also does not support LTE. Took a photo looked fine but only took one photo in normal daylight conditions. It has a 8MP camera. Great phone for the price. It was advertised for R2500 in the Kalahari.com booklet over the weekend.

Also 4GB of memory is useless for storage.

Hisense does not even show up on gsmarena.com....maybe better known in Oz? I am using this phone currently, its easy to use, does not have too much bloat, thankfully. Its not a Galaxy feature wise, but then, it costs nowhere near Samsung. Camera is just so so, if you need a camera as primary reason for phone, look elsewhere. I would say it compares to Afrihost Z1, read those specs for a better idea of the Pure 1. Cheap and cheerful Chinese, as opposed to cheap and nasty Korean.

Is this phone using Kit Kat out of the box?

There's a demo stand at Gateway outside Game with live handsets.

Any update to this phone. I managed to destroy my mobile and I'm looking at a cheap alternative to get me going for the time being. @ 2.5k it looks like a bargin.

I've got the Prime 1 U970 for R1999 from Kalahari.com. Good phone, nothing compared to my S3, but good bang for your buck.

Plasticky, poor wifi, 4.2.1 only - no kitkat, battery lasts for 2 days with normal usage, free cover and two screen protectors...

I'm thinking about getting this phone for my wife since it seems pretty good for the price; I just wish there was mod support. That's the unfortunate thing about many of these relatively unknown-to-the-rest-of-the-world budget phones.

My phone was delivered this morning.

I have to say this has to be the bargain of the century! The quality of the phone has surpassed my expectations.

I would go as far as saying it feels better in my hand than my Note 1. The standard firmware is a clean 4.2.1 version with no bloatware. I bought this phone as an interim replacement until I upgrade next year. But I can see me holding onto this for longer.

Things that stand out:
Dual sim. (I have no need for a dual sim phone but I'm sure I can find a use for this :)
2500mh battery
5.5" display (A longer screen vs the wider Note) Feels better in the hand.

Negatives -
No custom rom support.

Don't waste your time with the under 2k cheapies. Stretch the budget a wee bit and get something decent that you will hold onto for a while.

Regarding the wifi question above, the range is actually better than my Note 1 was. Where I used to get 1 bar, I now get 2 bars with the U980. I am having a issue connecting to WEP though, but I had the same issue with the custom firmware on the Note. Still fiddling to get this sorted.

So I've this phone for a week and I'd thought I'd provide some feedback.

Still haven't figured out a use for the dual sim, so one slot is still empty.
The battery life is INSANE. I'm loving the 2 days that I'm getting and this is with heavy use.
The wifi range is absolutely awesome. I get signal where I didn't with my Note and I've compared with the SO's Sony Z at home and I get 2 bars vs zero signal on the Z. I think is also the reason why I am getting such great battery life (phone is almost always on WIFI)
There is zero bloatware on the standard OS so it is super quick and responsive.

I've taken the time to install all my apps, widgets etc. so the phone is setup now exactly like I want and I am loving it. Its a pity this phone is not available on contract as it would be cheap as chips and the best bang for buck on contract.

Also have this phone for a month now. Very nice. just not to happy with the current launcher / theme on the phone, looking for something like themer almost. Any suggestions?

I'm using Nova launcher. Personally the best out there.

Installed atom launcher + locker now. Havent played with the atom themes yet, but the default one looks pretty sleek. Also in Atom I hid the statusbar and installed notify me. Works like a treat. Can't wait for the upcoming firefox launcher though, runs on the everything me launcher.

What's the audio quality like on these phones with headphones plugged in?

It's hard enough that you have to adjust the volume when at work or so. loud enough to watch a movie or listen to music in a quiet place. But not as loud as other devices I have come across. Would say audio quality is the same as a Sony Xperia V, Iphone 5 etc....

EDIT:

Only saw the part about headphones now, very good. I tested it on my own headphones and nearly blew my ears off lol.

Hi, Can you confirm whether the U980 support Wifi Direct?
Much appreciated.

Bought this phone recently. Mine lags intermittently. Happens when using messaging and the dialler. Even tried another dialler, but it still does the same thing. It will lag for a few seconds before making a call. Ending a call also lags at times. Messaging lags when closing it. Sometimes gives error message that 'Messaging isn't responding'. This would be a great phone without the annoying lags. Another problem is that the screen sometimes does not light up when pressing the power button. Reset the phone to factory defaults, but the intermittent lagging is still there.

Yip I've seen that as well. But trust me it is not the phone, but rather the OS. I had the same issues before on my galaxy note. I was running a custom rom (paranoid Android) and I used to get the same lag intermittently.

I've been using the phone for about 3-4 months and I still rate it.
