These two TVs, the Hisense U7N and TCL C6K (in 55") are basically the same price.

I've looked at the Hisense in person and it looks pretty nice, but the one thing holding me back was Vidaa OS, whereas the TCL has Google TV.

I briefly looked at the Hisense U7Q, which is being positioned as the newer model, but it looks like it's actually worse than the U7N.

Has anyone already compared these two TVs and could make a recommendation?

Go for the Google TV if you don’t have a set top box.

Everything else is paper value stuff you’ll never notice unless you have them side by side, but Vidaa will always annoy you.

If you do not have a box with it, and you use it for watching streaming services from the TV directly, I agree with @SauranZA to go for the Google TV OS. As a gaming TV also, the Hisense is a decent mid-range gaming tv, at good bang for buck.

Just take note, if viable, try to operate the TCL in person, as some of the Google TVs are slowish, which does not bother some, but it might bother you.

I believe the Hisense specifically in 55-inch has much fewer local dimming zones as well, which should give the TCL an edge overall.

Not sure about the hisense, but I am very happy with my C6K.

Hmm, I had just about decided on the Hisense. Vidaa seems to have 8 years of software updates or so. But yeah, the Google TV is good. If it's slow though, that would be bad, and I hear Vidaa is fast.

Ask yourself why they use Google TV themselves in all other regions...but then decide to use their own **** Vidaa in the third world.

Buy the TCL.
