I formatted my hdd and forgot to backup some files. Where could i find a saved game file for hl2?

I reinstalled steam aswell and didn't copy my old saved game file.

For some reason when i go into the game after extracting to save folder it doesn't pick it up.

Next time use HL2's built in backup option. If your game is totally up to date before the backup it can save a lot of time restoring it.

or copy the whole STEAM folder to a DVD or another HDD.

Did you have to copy a .tga file also or did it create itself after placing the save file in the folder?
