Checkit, they deducted 84 rand (not 70) from my account on monday, then the 500 on tuesday... fine... called yesterday, and according to their process, everything sits at EasyCom (please provide a website so I can get their phone number and start hassling them)

According to the status of my order, they're awaiting stock.... stock? WAT DE DONNER?

You mean to tell me, they thought only 10 users are going to sign up and now they have to wait for stock and THAT is the reason for waiting almost 5 days for a ****ing modem delivery!?!!?

At least Sentech havn't pulled the whole 1500 off my account yet, or I would SERIOUSLY be pissed.

Well, knowing that theyre out of stock, kind makes me feel reliefed.
Cause if they been taking so long with you guys, and for no apparant reason, I'd really worry.

I think Sentech miscalculated the amount of Geeks in South Africa.

Nope they haven't taken the R70 delivery fee from me yet. Only the R500 goodwill.

Goodwill? Haahahah thats funny.

Yeah I guessed that they must be out of stock. I can accept that. But how about a teensy weensy little bit of communication? How about like a one liner on the webpage saying they are out of stock. You can use like .6 pitch and all. Save themselves an immense amount of goodwill right there.

i was mistaken, it was fastcomm, called them this morning (they're in pretoria) pretending like i'm interested in buying the modem and saw it on their website... the lady told me she would check if they have stock.. came back, they have limited stock left, but doesn't sell to the public, said I should sign up on sentech.co.za for it... mkay... fine... accessories? only the ethernet cable, apparently sentech has the patch attenna's or selling them or something like that...

in any case, it didn't seem that fastcomm was a big company, hell... they got the request to deliver a modem to me on tuesday already, now, courier companies, based on the 70 rand fee, would deliver within 24 hours, what.. you mean to tell me THEY'RE delivering it themselves and coining the 70 rand PLUS the modem money PLUS interest we pay on the modem due to the "loan" ??!?!?!

This is a total ripoff, I would die before getting fastcomm to distribute any kind of hardware for me... [:(]

well............. 3 weeks later and cant get them to respond to my calls and queries.... im in the queue... even tho i did apply at 4pm when my wireless went online.... and others who applied later have got theirs already...

SO I HAVE CANCELLED MY APPLICATION..... THIS IS NONSENSE....
and if they DARE deduct something from my account now.....

oh and the complaint i laid with the advertising standards authority has been taken seriously and been taken to the next level now... yay...

jy vattie k@k nie ne?

but, if they go bankrupt of the complaints commission wanting a pay off or give them bad publicity, i'll commit suicide just to come haunt you

mkay [:o)]

Yes, cut your nose to spite your face! Or as they say: "Principles are expensive". I also thought of cancelling my order but I realised that will leave me nowhere (Telkom). Now that I have my modem, I am as happy as can be. I was worried about reception but it seems fairly fine. Varies from no-signal to 4 LED's on at my place. Get a drop now and then but when it's on it moves. I had two clients on downloading at 7kB/s last night which implies (7 + 7)X 8 = 112kb/s. It may get worse later with contentious issues but right now I am not complaining. Even if it gets slower, I can still download overnight and that is something that I can't afford with Dail-Up.

You peasants with your "128k" slow biatch connections will bow before me and my 512 monster... oh, and my connection [:p] [:D]
