Can you post the link to there website where you see this offer, i can't find it.

don't think they're offering this any more. what happens is, the 30GB accounts get all the unused, unpaid for bandwidth that lies around in a pool. much like how telkom isp/mweb are doing things. or so i've heard.

peace

I signed up for the 30GB account and then realised it's an IPC account and it's restricted like hell. No P2P or anything like that. I am sure price has alot to do with that. It's on their own network so they can have more control over it.

edit: oh yes, it might not be on their website but I am sure you can sign up for one. You just need to email them. My suggestion is NOT to. no offense to SAOL. If you want a true 30GB account you need to get one of their premium accounts. That what they told me. Also when I chose to go back to my 10GB account with them, they said quote "The changes have been made against your account. Please disconnect and reconnect, you should see an immediate improvement." upquote. So they themselves know is not up to scratch with a proper 30GB account.

I presume they will never be allowed to experience teething problems. No wonder there are so few companies offering their own services, they are insulted to death for every problem they experience.

How long should teething problems be allowed?? It's been over a week in the new year already since it's been operational. If you pay for a service you should expect it to be up to scratch. SAOL should instead say we are "trialing" a new 30GB service so people know there will be teething problems. I was on a 10GB account. it's was fast, stable and literally perfect. When upgrading to the 30GB account, it was like I went backwards. I then made an enquiry and then SAOL points it finger at Telkom and says:
Remember , Telkom does not guarantee its ADSL or bandwidth.
They said to me the teething issues have been resolved. This was on the 5th Jan 2006.

Ermm....no company can resolve their entire batch of teething problems in a week. If you expect that, then maybe its good you moved off their service, because I sure know if I was them, I wouldn't wish to be insulted everytime I experience a glitch in my brand new system.

Luckily, I have patience with people trying to make a difference, and I will be eating on the juicy fruits that I will pick once the system is a 100% operational. I'm sure thats when you will coming back...isn't it? Then all of a sudden they are good enough.

Oh well, I need to get back to my 7.9GB download, on their IPC, running at 112kb/s on my line....

oh, let me just add, I took the time to phone them, now I am all sorted out. I didn't just start throwing around derogatory accusations.

would you excuse me kindly...I've gotta get back to my pleasure...

UM.....I am an SAOL customer! I SUPPORT SAOL! Have been with them since NOV '05. I don't support their 30GB service...that's the difference. I took the time to email them and phone them and discuss my situation of very slow speeds. I did have lengthy discussions with Marko and Neethi and we mananged to come to some sort of resolution. I don't expect their service to be perfect. BUT I expect there to be a resolution. (which there was after 3 days). I am back to my 10GB which works perfectly and am very happy with.

Before you start making accusations of me taking the time to call them etc, get your facts straight. Don't assume anyone griping about something hasn't taken the time to sort it out.

Um...back??? I am already here...I am with SAOL. And will be standing next to you picking these fruit...and eating them....

Thank-you. At least it seems like you are willing to give it some time...

There is hope....
