Ho do you throttle bandwidth?

Hi,

My wife is using up all my bandwith ;) (Marconi 4port Router). Is there a way that I can limit the connection speed of a user on my LAN?

put a linux box in. have it act as router/proxy. then use it to throttle her, plus you get the added bonus of being able to use the box as a firewall, and being able to see what she is using your bandwidth on
 
Or just get a new wife. They are easyer to get than bandwidth!

If the wife is downloading porn. At least enjoy it with her.

If not, get a FreeBSD box with DummyNet to do the throttling.

Um if it's porn with other chicks...SCORE, otherwise if it's porn with guys...maybe you like that...but i prefer chicks, and chicks downloading pics of chicks :D
 
Why not save yourself the guilt of killing her or the money in divorcing her and get a Billion 7402. It's got QoS with Prioritization and inbound/outbound IP Throttling.
