hi,

we had been considering going abroad for a week (France) but after reading your advice I decided it might be best if we did a less expensive and equally rewarding South African tour.

Which Western Cape towns do you guys think has a lot of caracter. I had heard so much about franshoek and how its one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Can anyone confirm this?
Is it worth going wine hopping when i dont know anything about wine?

Are there places that we can visit which is not yet incorporated in the mainstream tourist flow.

How busy is tourism in WC between the months August and September?

Thanks all for advice you might share

Well you could always start off in Stellenbosch and work your way to Oudshoorn over a period of a week or two and visit all the small places along the way. Would make for a really nice holiday experience.

Swing by Hermanus and you should see the whales in the bay at that time as well.

were a small group, i might only be staying 4 or 5days

i don't know if i'd be keen on doing the whale watching thing, i cant wait a whole day to see a fish.

What is there to do en route to oudshoorn, anything exciting that stands out?

I do have a few ideas of what i'd like to get while there, maybe someone can help?
Place that sells home made cheese.
Farm that sells and produces honey

I think you'd be better staying in the one place and doing day trips if you're only there for a few days. Stay in CT or Stellenbosch and you can do trips to 100 wine farms and farm stalls. You can also go to the 2 Oceans Aquarium in CT where you'll see lots of fish instantly :)

Hi Flowerhat

We birth live young through our ginormous vaginas, produce milk for our young, breathe air and are warm-blooded. So yeah, we're mammals.

Sincerely,
Abzo The Pregnant Whale

hello,

That is real interesting about the whales.

I heard about the fact that we have two different climates in cape town that produces distinct tastes of wine. I would like to visit such farms. Does anyone know where the devide is, or can a single farm sport both climates?

Thanks

If you are Stellies way, try their Brandy tour and they will show you how Brandy his made. There are two different prices. You get a little more with the more expesive. As far as I know they are both under R100 and are both 1 hour long. I will find out the number and PM it to you. I personally haven't been on the tour but I have a friend that has and said it was really nice. :)
