Hey guys,

So I have finally managed to sneak a full week (well, just over 10 days) off work. This will be my first break in over 1.5 years.

I want to take my better half away for some piece and relaxation, somewhere scenic and peaceful (Mpumulanga?, Limpopo?) but I have gone totally blank. We were planning on doing the whole Durban/Umdloti thing but our accommodation fell through at the last moment (kinda relieved as I'm not in the mood for the humidity) so now I am kinda stuck... We leave on Friday

I'm not loaded so not looking for any fancy hotels, rather a nice b&b or small lodge somewhere. I actually want to make it a bit of a road trip and was hoping to spend a few days in a few different places, Pilgrims Rest, Barberton, Dullstroom, those kind of places.

I'm really stuck for ideas of where to go and where to stay. PLEASE HELP with some suggestions...
Also don't mind a few days camping if the spot is nice enough.

Cheers in advance.

Mpumalanga is stunningly beautiful!! All the places you mentioned above, such magnificent scenery, and its very affordable too!

LOL You say you are going on holiday with your wife and want the forumites to tell you where to go? WTF Ever bothered asking her? Or your mother or neighbours - at least they know your mindset. I know internet forums can help but they have limits too. Well, unless you are bored and want to increase your post count :D Bud,personal matters are better decided among the people involved ! Oh,I almost forgot - Go to Lasvegas US. I have been last year there and it was super nice. 1 week should be just fine there, otherwise it might turn out a bit expensive. On the other hand I think you already know exactly where you are going :D Enjoy it man.

Yeah, I have been a member since 2005 and have a whopping 255 posts.... Obviously I'm just looking to increase my post count. Whatever.

I'm looking for advice, want to know where people have stayed, what the places were like, are they worth it, etc. See no reason for the *** reply, if you don't have any suggestios on decent spots then why not just keep your mouth shut? I guess you need to get your post count up somehow hey?

Have you considered Klein Kariba in Limpopo near warm baths?

try checking for accommodation on www.safarinow.com, i have used them many times in teh past and they are awesome, also the lodges usually have specials on so you can 'shop around'

I took my little family to a place near Underberg called Eland Valley Resort. Have a look here. It's an amazing spot!

I would also add the Drakensberg to your list of places to go. Very peaceful and relaxing with plenty of affordable accommodation available.

Try Drifters in Umdloti. It's a really nice place. Otherwise keep a look out for kulula's holiday package specials.
