Hey all,

First time travelling overseas on my own so not really familiar with the whole Visitor visa process :) Am travelling to Australia at the end of the year to see some family and friends and am busy gathering all the necessary documents together.

So 1st question - For the bank statements, what's important for them here? Reason being that I keep a low balance as I always transfer most of my money into my bond and then use my credit card for spending during the month. I'm worried they see this and assume that I'm not financially able to visit?

and then my 2nd question is I'm moving down to CT on Saturday. I was planning on submitting my application this week but how does it work when I get to CT? Is a visa something they can just mail down to me there? Is it an email? Do they courier my passport up to Jhb? I almost feel silly asking since I've never actually seen a visa :o

Thanks in advance :)

Australian visitor visa is electronic ... you upload the documents, and they email you a confirmation document. There's no physical sticker in the passport unlike the UK / USA visas

Thanks :D That'll definitely save me a lot of pain. Was worried about the whole applying Jhb and then going to CT thing :) So would I need that confirmation document when I arrive in Aus? Or can I assume that since it's all electronic then it just shows up on their system when they scan my passport when I get there?
