A debit order of R50 was going off my bank account. I initially thought this was a debit order I setup into a separate savings account. However i closed that savings account and transferred the money back into my main account. Then last month on the 28th A R50 debit order came off. I went down to Nedbank and they informed me it's from Hollard Insurance.
I was bewildered as i have no dealings with them. I have never signed any policy with them and as a rule of thumb, i never do telesales.
So i called Hollard up and they inform me that I have taken out a savings plan with them from 28/3/2006 and that my fund is currently sitting on +-R2500 with maturity on 28/3/2011. I enquired if payment was being recorded on their system dating back from 2006 and they said YES. I KNOW FOR A FACT that a debit order of R50 p/m has not been leaving my account for the last 3/4 years. I have asked them to send me the policy document to read through.
My question is what would you do?
A) ask for proof you signed something and ask for them for full reimbursement of what i payed ( ie R50x3 months)
B) keep quiet and wait for maturity
any advice guys?
