I have a friend in CT who got his line in about 2 weeks, and he reckons he knows a bunch of people there who got theirs in about the same time or shorter. In fact, he and I applied for our lines on the same day, 27th of Feb. He got his within two weeks, I got mine two weeks ago...
Damn, but it sucks to live in Jhb...

I have to say that Telkom installs very quick in Cape Town.

I still would like to have a poll on the average install times per major city.

I live in CT. I applied on 1 August and it was installed on 21 August and then became operational on 22 August.

im in northern suburbs and mine took 13 days... I love CT. Too bad im in Jozi at the moment.

Mine took 2 months (but it really only took 1 month, the order got stuck in JHB, never left the offices) - Yeah, I know shouldnt have ordered over the phone.

Telkom installed ADSL at a friend's house in mid july. ADSL line still doesnt work because they are 'awaiting activation'. Takes them a month to do this.

They transferred my line with ADSL within 1 and a half weeks.

Come live in Cape Town! Johannesburg is much too slow... and they can't drive for **** either

Have to say I had no problems with my install - actually happened months before they said it might be available in my area. I guess everyone in my area requesting helped. Odd how are only a few people using it after all that initial interest.
