Anybody has a contact there or knows an agent, lawyer, whoever who can assist with speeding up a process? I'm tired of waiting for those useless fcuks.

Thanks

I had to go to home affairs yesterday after 2 years - let me say - nothing has improved. So Leon, the minister can go suck an egg! He is obviously good at marketing!!

hacc @ dha . co . za

Do expect to wait 7-14 days to get an response. You can also call them, or go see DHA themselves in person. I emailed them.

In the meantime I found a lawyer, who uses an agent, who has a contact at DHA who assures he/she can get the required document for a measly R7700 fee. This still exclude the lawyer's and agent's fee.

Why? My application took a long time, and it was due to some hold up that couldn't be explained to me, so they said it is related to my biometrics. All I could do was wait, and then the biometrics problem got solved all on its own. Personally, I think they had a backlog, but were keeping public appearances. I won't know.

That said, my parents went, and both their ID and passports were done within two weeks.

I still need to do my passport application which I couldn't do while my ID was still in process. That was stupid. Why they don't allow you to apply in parallel is beyond me. You can do a single application to do both, but I didn't know that since I went through the online route.

No need to get legal assistance. Just query them.

I'll give 'em a month or two more to sort out their crap, and mail them in the meantime.
