I went another way. I have Tasker set up on my phone, with a rule, that as soon as it see my phone connect to the car's bluetooth, it enables hotspot which the car's radio automatically connect to and use. The car radio is set up to not do updates over hotspot wifi connections, so it only updates when at home and connected to the wifi at home.

Ha ha ha, this sounds almost like the iPhone their permanently lives in my old car that also needed a technological step up.

Lives in the cubby hole wired in and then I would sync music to it wirelessly when at home.

Should have just plakked it on the dash. :)

Was nice to get in the car and it knows where you going. (calendar/google maps/etc)

I have an Android Toyota radio. When I step in my car Automate detects connection to the Bluetooth and turns on the WiFi hotspot. Car connects via the hotspot.

I also had mine like that, but then got the Telkom multi-sim thing - so just added a sim to the car - so it's always on.

Would there be a way of interfacing that with wireless devices? (PIRs) - can't say I'm that impressed with Paradox.

Count me in. I'll write up a whole blog. Using Alexa and google home with HA and paradox with ip150, etc cheers
 
I'm intrigued...

I have a Paradox system at home, and whilst it does the job its far from stellar....

Actually with that, anyone know where i can get my hands on the latest firmware of the MG5050 and TM50 from Paradox...

Have they got a means to talk to our SA armed response companies yet? Then I would certainly be interested as well.
 
The konnected.io system would be great.
Do need to know though if the radio that the armed response install is compatible.
Does the konnected.io have like a keybus how does it interface with more complex devices that isnt a sensor.

Edit:
Ok I see on their website, if you already have a DSC alarm, it will work as is on the konnected.io board...I assume that is for the sensors.

Which of those will be part of the test kits?
Looking at that link, it looks like I would need the: Konnected Alarm INTERFACE
That will allow me to use my current keypad and armed response company from what I can tell.
It doesn't look like it supports wireless sensors, but the addon cards look like they interface wirelessly with the main panel. So thats interesting...
