In all honesty though, I still see a place for Sonoffs in my HA setup.... but its a slow process of convincing old school people about the idea... and Shellys tick all the right boxes for that.

Are there shellys that do power usage monitoring a la Pow, and TH stuff?
 
From what I can see the 2.5 is a dual and the 1 is a single relay, its a pity because most of my switches have 3 gang.
Still it would be pretty cool to have normal switches for the lights.
Im busy building at the moment so its nice being able to wire everything from scratch and get enough conduit in the walls.
Is anyone using a wifi based dimmer switch? seems to be very limited options for those.

I'm going to be using a 2.5 and a 1 for my 3 gang switches... but the units will be up in the ceiling for me so space isn't an issue.
 
My first Xiaomi Yeelight bulb went :( was wondering how long they'd last - it held out about two years I think... so hopefully just a fluke.

Interesting approach, never thought of that before. So will you just run wiring down into the switch for that?
If you use the momentary switches you linked before then it shouldnt be an issue to control with MQTT or you could just put Tasmota or ESPhome on it to use the setoption for the switch type.

Im a bit torn between using the Sonoff T1 for the 3 gang units or doing something like the Shelly.

Wiring is already down in the switch so it's much less painful....outside of the work needing to be done in the ceiling.

Should be much simpler to bridge without needing to run neutral wires in most setup.

(Although I was the one to propose this idea, I haven't actually done it yet).

I have the issue of a SO who isn't happy with too much tech.... so T1's definitely would't have been acceptable, it needed to be switches...

In terms of the wiring, I have all the junctions up in the ceiling already so I just need to splice in the Shellys and I'm theoretically A for Away.
 
I dont like the way the T1's look, but by far the nicest expected feature is being able to control other switches and devices (AC, garage doors, scripts etc)

T1s are discontinued. Check out the black and white Txs and let me know what you think?

I saw they replaced them with the T0 (no RF) T2(white) and T3(black) there doesnt seem to be stock available anywhere of the T2 or T3 from what I can tell. The square buttons do look nicer and I read that the LED glow isnt as bright when the switch is turned off.

The pricing will be 10-15% more than the T1, about the same without RF.

They haven't been released yet with the US/AU dimensions. Should get stock mid July.
