100% correct

it wasn't 8 months since our neighbour made their walls higher, we had our 1st, 2nd and then 3rd break in (or attempted).
 
Sorry to hear man something similar happened to me except they did manage to steal stuff while i was sleeping. Couldn't sleep for weeks after that. The best solution seems to be a good electric fence

Thanks man, it really is a ****ty feeling, but I have decided with the family that selling would be our best option and then maybe emigrate.....

It made your home look much easier to break into vs the neighbours.
 
I also worry about break ins, my neighbours aren't good ones, they wouldn't give a damn if someone was in my yard.

What would be some good self defense weapons? Except guns. (family is against that.)

They are. Hooked up to a battery. They don't use a lot of power as they power comes back to the battery once it goes through the entire fence. So only if someone gets shocked and due to friction is power lost.

Well, I got myself a police torch that doubles as a taser....Only cost me a R100....
 
Unfortunately my place was broken into, even though we have a front gate with locks and a solid alarm system. They kicked in the front door and gate.

I need to buy a CCTV system. Any thoughts on the below system?
