Hi friends

Need help for my home CCTV system.

All the cameras show "No Video". Just stopped working randomly one day. The Cameras appear to be off, so I think it's the power supply.

Anyway to know for sure what's up?

Don't think it's the power supply, not familiar with these units, but the lit LEDs appear to indicate that there's power on the 12v side pushing to the cameras..

Thanks. Yeah I am clueless too. Eish.

Is it a monitor connected to the DVR or is it a pc connected via your home network. If it is a pc it could be an update or something similar thats causing this. When Flashplayer was discontinued I had to resort to using a monitor as that was the only software that the DVR could use to view through a browser. Also check your cables to the cameras maybe the rats could have had a meal of them.

Nah it's a monitor.

I checked the cables, looks okay...seems improbable all 4 could have been eaten by rats at the same time. (I don't think I have rats lol)

It's the power supply. Green lights shows there's power on the board.

A cheap multimeter will confirm the PSU issue.

Simple swap out with a new one like this?

I see hikvision has their own branded ones which is even cheaper

Thats an old hikvision DVR. If the PSU measures 12V+- then the DVR encoder (ADC) chip is fried (need new DVR). Cheap R700 job from TAL will do the trick.

First test with a meter. Even 6V will still light the LED jut dimmer than normal.

I don't have a meter or even know how to use one lol.

Eish what to do. Bite the bullet and try replace the PSU?

Yip. Buy the hikvision. It has a volt selector for longer power runs.

Possible, but I've replaced 4 of those power supplies, this week.

It TAL, you can always return it.

We can help with the meter. Just get a cheapie and we can guide you to test.

Quick troubleshooting step would be to disconnect one of the camera power wires and connect to a spare port on the PSU but I’d rather test with a meter personally.

I have experienced voltage drops with that model PSU
As an experiment, connect 1 camera direct to the incoming 12 volt feed
If ok, connect a second, etc
Let me know
