Home-Connect Fibre

Home-Connect any good?

Thanks
As an example, I see they've massively shoved up their monthly rate on the basic package for FNO I can get (Frogfoot) since sometime last year.

Used to be 30 / 3 Mbps was R388.
It then went to R470 something, now the base 40 / 10 is R588 - all to fall in line with being taken over by Afrihost (?) so their (HC) prices aren't (seen as being) too cheap for equivalent speeds I imagine.

Take note of :

Search this forum "everywhere" using "home connect" and you should find the odd thread / comments, some positive from what I remember.

@BCR thanks for the info, had to cancel Rain because for last two weeks or so it just got bad. The Home-Connect (VumaReach) package that I'm interested in are R488.00 pm and Afrihost R529.00
You have any idea what their customer services are like?

I haven't ever contacted Home Connect, so can only go by what I've read, which seems to have been a bit of a mixed bag ; some negative and some positive.

I think most people would say, pay the extra R40 pm odd for "peace of mind" knowing you have easily contactable reps here from Afrihost.

As long as you're also aware they're not always the angels many think they are , and if you have a problem they can't easily resolve, you'll be given the "cold shoulder" - happened to me about 2 years ago with my MTN fixed LTE dropping connections randomly, multiple times daily.

As it was only me reporting it, AfriNatic never pushed MTN to do anything, after their feedback brushing it off.

Only after a number of clients started complaining about similar issues months after I'd left, was the rep prepared to push / work with MTN to sort it out.

This isn't to say I wouldn't go back to them if it suited me, for fibre or even LTE again.

@BCR thanks for that, yes I think Afrihost is the way to go don'y mind paying the R529.
Will let know via DM regarding my decision.
