OP, very very few Android media player devices can output true 1080p.
I know AMLogic AM8726 m6 based devices can do it, if running using the right firmware. The only right firmware that I know of, is an experimental linux build. No other Android device can do it, not even the Ouya. Rk3188 based devices are powerful enough, but do not output 1080p.
So, you can wait for XBMC for Android to be updated to support 1080p, or get an HTPC.
