Would like to find out from other members that have installed a generator (the mobile ones, Ryobi, Grip etc) to their DB board how much it cost? (Preferably in Gauteng).

Received 2 quotes that include separate distribution board, cabling, transfer switch, surge protection, circuit breakers, indication lights with alarm and a COC.

Would like to see what I've been quoted in relation to the market.
Thanks!

My guess is the 5k mark
That was my gut feeling too but received quotes between R7700 and R9700.

Obviously would try haggle but even then looking at R6500.

Just want to see what others are getting because I might be wrong.

Not kidding but as per my personal experience, post Covid, everyone has escalated their price by 50-70%. I have quotes from 2020 about security gates and other stuff and it is absolutely crazy world out there.

Think i paid about 2800 for switchover , alarm , connection with a COC.

Was a few years ago.

Right so bit the bullet. Managed to get the one quote down to R 6 500.
Will post photos of the install once done for others future reference.

Wow I paid that for solar panels, inverter and battery installed a few months ago, not sure what that 6800 is going to cover.
