Hi all,

Looking for some help on how to achieve this.

Current flow is . ADSL Router -> Switch -> AP -> Switch

That gives wifi across the entire house.

What I would like to do now is -> ADSL Router -> Switch -> AP ->Switch -> Heawui B315.

Server would connect using the ADSL router and should manage the DHCP. Should also allow router to connect to No-IP.com

LTE Router should provide access to the rest of the house and their internet needs.

Anything I need to know to achieve this?

ADSL router is a TP-Link W8970.

Is the LTE device connecting to the Internet also?

So you're gonna get a DHCP conflict.
You need to put the LTE device into dumb mode so that it doesn't assign IP's.

But even then, it's going to be trial and error.
I've never managed to successfully share two internet connections.
Can't you just share the LTE device as wifi and not plug it into the network?

Yes? Just not through the ADSL router.

Reason I looking into this, is to downgrade my ADSL to 2mbps as that should be sufficient for downloading and LTE for everything else.

If I need to split the networks I need Plex to work back to the media server which is on the other side of the house.

Possible but means switching between networks when I need to play something from the media server :(

Ja, I would keep the networks separate, but that is going to be a problem for plex on the wireless devices.

I dunno... without some kind of load balancing software, this might be an exercise in frustration, because the last thing you need is for all the devices to fall back onto downloading through the LTE.

For the Wireless devices, can't you just set up both wifi connections and then switch to the other wifi connection when you want to watch plex?

Why do you want to do this?

There's a rule of thumb that if you connect things in a star topology you'll have less points of failure and your throughput would be fafster.

Congestion on the exchange. After 12am it settles but before that latency is a huge issue.

Was considering Telkom LTE uncapped to go along with the Vox account I currently have.

Didn't want to cancel the Telkom line as its a bitch to get another installed if LTE also goes to krap

Set you DSL router and LTE router on the same network.
Turn on the LTE router DHCP server
Set the DSL router DHCP mode to relay and point it to the LTE router.
The devices that only need the LTE connection should then always connect to LTE no matter where they connect from in the network

Give the devices that needs to be able to switch static IP's and manually change the gateway and possibly DNS settings as needed.

That's how i would do it without spending money on it.
