Instead of popping a pill for every ailment, one should also consider supplementing narural products. Let us share with others, what we know on this subject. e.g.

Ginger and Tumeric have long been known to help inflammatory diseases from arthritis to asthma.
Eating approx. 2 Tbl. spoons full of roasted pumpkin seeds daily, raised my ferritin blood count, within 6 months, from a low 4 to a normal 15 and I was no longer anaemic.
If you are aware of something that can benefit someone healthwise, add it to this list.
After all, food IS better medicine than drugs!

That sounds odd... 15 is NOT normal. 20-odd is just about acceptable, for women; for men it should be above 30.

If your level is 4, you'd have been noticing serious side effects (I've been through this, I had a level of 2) and if your doctor's any good, you'd be on hectic iron supplements.

But I guess that's a bit OT.

So on the natural remedies side: just remember that 'natural' is not the same as 'harmless'; and also that herbal supplements can interfere with any prescription medications you are taking.

I may drink quit a bit tonight ... anything natural I should take beforehand, besides water before I sleep?

just eat food before you drink, and after too - it kinda works..
oily kfc always helps a hangover...

Yea I've read all the remedies for the actual hangover on here ;)

I'm now aiming to not get the hangover in the first place!

Everytime you go to the bathroom @ the party drink some water. Assuming the party is at a place where everything is hygienic.

Keeper is right about the food....you'll feel better...just be careful with the legal drive limit though. Just because you feel fine doesn't mean the bloodtests agree with you.;)

I agree that herbal supplements may interfere with prescription medication, that's why I prefer "natural food" (stuff that you eat everoy day)
According to the Pathologist's report, the normal range for Ferritin is 13-150ng/ml. Therefore a count of 15 is regarded as being in the normal range.

Does anyone have harmless natural remedies for nail biting problems ? My 4 year old cannot keep his fingers out of his mouth ....

Maybe I should break his hands. Wearing casts for 6 weeks should help ? I hope so ....

AND he won't have his fingers, when not in his mouth, stuck up his nasal passages as well. Hell, this sounds like a workable plan ! Thanks for the help !!

For women, 15 is the absolute bottom of the range (15-200 being the accepted norm if im not mistaken) also the fact that it took you 6 months to get there is a little disconcerting. Are you a vegetarian? If you really dont want to take the pills then just eat some red meat, should set you straight.

Personally i think the iron supplements are best choice, but that defeats the purpose of this thread doesn't it..

After reading the different views on whether a count of 15 is normal or not, I phoned the Lab who did the test. I was told that there are different methods of testing and in my case, the ng/ml was used. 13-150ng/ml range for this test, is regarded as being normal.
Yes, I was on medication for quite some time, but experienced too many side effects. The original point I wanted to make, is that eating roasted pumpkin seeds, raised my ferritin levels for sure!

Your body needs iron in the ferrous form. You can have the tablet FeS04 , you can eat red meat (FeS04) or you can eat pumpkin seeds (a lot less FeS04). BTW your ferritin goes up with inflammation eg infection.
Good luck with 'em pumpkin pips
