Home Streaming Media

It means, what I said it means - Plex is good. I use Plex every day on my Samsung TV.
If you have a microserver though, running XBMC on that would be a lot more slick than running Plex on a TV. A lot more responsive, better UI, more addons, etc..

But plex is fine too.
But does that mean connecting the server to the tv? If its the case, it wont work. I need it on two tvs and its also not near any one of the two.
Yeah the Roku stick should be fine. I have not used one as I have the Roku 3 but don't see it being a problem at all.

I have a Roku stick and it works well. Sometimes it's a bit sluggish but definitely not unusable. For someone like your dad it will be fine. Turn TV on, click plex, click series and watch. Simple.
Thanks. Maybe worth investing a bit more for Roku 3 then?

If you don't mind spending more go for the Roku 3. After owning the stick for about a year I think it would be better to have the Roku 3. But the stick is still capable if you are on a budget.
