Never knew orthodonists did whitening? I thought it was a dentist who did that :D

Maybe he dislikes dentists.

Whitening though is not great i have heard, does not last long if you drink coffee/tea and/or smoke.

Nah, you sleep with the tooth condoms for a week or two. If your teeth goes yellow again after some months of coffee, just use more of the bleach stuff.

Nope... The ortho's wife is a dentist, he's got inside info ;)

Hmmmm.... I only drink Rooibos, wonder if that's as bad :/ apparently if you drink it with a straw it's a lot better so it doesn't come into contact with your teeth as such... hehehe

Ok kewl... What brand, which shops stock that?

dentist has to make a cast of your teeth in order to make the coverings. he will also sell you the bleach. whole ordeal cost me R1500

I had to whiten my teeth because of a crown that stays white when the other teeth turn yellow due to coffee/smoking.

Is not that cheap :/ kewl - if that's wat it takes so be it...

My wife had the casts mentioned above made by her dentist. She used them at home for about 2 weeks and the results are excellent. Our medical aid actually paid for it - out of daily expenses though.
Downside is sore teeth while the process happens and for a few days afterward apparently. Sensodyne toothpaste helped with that.

Ahhhh.... OK kewl! Will definitely check that out!

Isn't whitening bad for your teeth?

It does weaken them yes. I investigated the whole whitening thing because I had to have an implant in the front of my mouth and they had to colour match the crown to the rest of my teeth. My dentist said that the ones from the shops are extra bad for your teeth, but even with the ones from the actual dentist, you have to keep doing it.
