Cats digital on the bridge towards NM square..
Why not try Marantz on the amplifier side? I find they've got price, value and quality perfect. How about the SR5001? It's R6300.00 right now, but is increasing in a few weeks. Some feature are ...
Innovative 32-bit Digital Signal Processing with DTS-ES and DPL IIx
Wide range full discrete 7 channel Current Feedback amplifiers
High quality video conversion
HDMI(1.1) switching
Sound delay function (LipSync)
Adjustable crossover
Multiroom with multi source
Dolby Headphone
Marantz D-Bus and RS232c connection
Pre-programmed system remote control
Only problem I have with using the 360 as a dvd player is the fan noise. You still also need to get the 360 HD drive. Are they available locally yet?this is what i got going to sandton city at lunch, so far the audionote setup seems to be he one to go for.
shaun at soundnote suggested that i use my xbox as my dvd player and get the following , he said it will be the same as using a hd dvd player.
Does anyone have more info on this? will the xbox elite have an hd drive? the fan noise doesn't really bother me.Only problem I have with using the 360 as a dvd player is the fan noise. You still also need to get the 360 HD drive. Are they available locally yet?
You can play HD games now because the content fits on a dvd, a movie however wouldnt.Does anyone have more info on this? will the xbox elite have an hd drive? the fan noise doesn't really bother me.

*ONKYO 504 amp
*Polk m50 fronts
*Polkcs1 center
*Polk m30 rears
*Polk psw12 sub
All for R14890, he did a demo for me on the bigger speakers and they were nice, even the smaller speakers seem (spec wise) to be more than I would need(esp since the room is not built to conceal sound and i don't want the neighbours to phone the police).
Then went to Fotocats, the guy there suggested the following screens:
*LG 42lc2rr (lcd)
*LG 42pc1r (plasma)
*Sony e200 42"
for decoder thing and dvd:
*Sony dg800 decoder 2500
*Sony ns76 1500
speakers all Jamo:
*e680 main
*e600 surround
*e8 center
*1810 sub
These are the only two places I could get to in lunch so I still have to visit the other places

Is it those silver Jamos in the window?![]()
He didn't show me what they looked like, he just gave me their price as a second option. silver sounds a bit cheap i think ....
Nope... I don't think so - I'd rather go with a panel TV. Resolution is the same (720p) only size is better for the E42. If you're going to RP, go for a SXRD model with 1080p (but that's around R29K for a 50").. http://www.sony.co.za/prod.asp?DTID=1&CID=49&SID=285&PID=2309Thank you bwana now i understand, at last!
the 40s is aboput R21000, for that money maybe a Bravia 3 LCD Rear Projection Television 50" would be a better option.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_TVwikipedia said:Some have questioned the credibility of Laser TV development efforts. Apparently, some information regarding Laser TV developments can be traced to the pre-IPO publicity campaign of Arasor[6] [7] [8] [9], and its partner, Novalux.[10]
A number of major consumer TV manufacturers have indicated that they have no plans to incorporate Laser TV technology into their product ranges.[11]
