Do you bake cookies/biscuits at home? It seems to me that with the exception of maybe cupcakes and larger cakes/tarts/etc, more people buy store bought cookies and biscuits.

You ?

I used to bake (especially crunchies) but I don't really eat cookies anymore so haven't in a while.

My Wife bakes her own, Tried and tested recipe that has been passed down over the generations.

My wife makes the most delicious peanut butter cookies! Yummy! Yesterday she made velvet cupcakes with creamcheese toppings, as well as scones and tuna wheels. She is VERY good in the kitchen.

I make shortbread from time to time it is easy!

As for cookies, they never turn out so nice.

Nothing beats a warm homemade chocolate chip cookie and a cold glass of milk. I've got some choc chips en route to me now from the US. :)

We bake brownies on a weekly basis - from the box (Pilsbury only) . . . just like my gran used to make. :D

I've made short breads as well as choc chip. I've found the choc chips to be slightly chewier than the store bought variety but I still love them.
I've stopped baking though because I'm trying to shed a few pounds but I did enjoy it.

You will see my contribution to this section is the low carb lifestyle thread.... I failed today! But I had to have a cookie! And there isn't any kind of carb or sweet in the house.. So I baked.

But tomorrow I promise to be good again.

I'm so glad I usually fail very badly with things like cookies or I would have been to big for a hospital bed :o

No bought cookie comes close to my wifes baking. She does really nice American style choc chips (soft inside) and sells shortbread year round its so popular.

I had the most simplest oats receipe where all you did was add in equal amounts of the dry ingredients, then an egg, a bit of oil and water until it was "cookie" consistancy. I used to make it often. We made cookies on mothers day. It's awesome to make your own.

I keep seeing the chocolate chip chickpea peanut butter cookies recipe floating around. Someone try them and let us know if they're as gross as they sound :D
