Homeopathy 'could be blacklisted'

Ministers are considering whether homeopathy should be put on a blacklist of treatments GPs in England are banned from prescribing, the BBC has learned.

The controversial practice is based on the principle that "like cures like", but critics say patients are being given useless sugar pills.

The Faculty of Homeopathy said patients supported the therapy.

A consultation is expected to take place in 2016.

The total NHS bill for homeopathy, including homeopathic hospitals and GP prescriptions, is thought to be about £4m.

Along with this, all snake oil should be moved to a separate section of pharmacies that insist on stocking it.

It's too easy for the ignorant to see Tincture of Motherwort alongside ibuprofen and think that it is a viable, healthy option.

This is method of deceit has been used for years and it needs to be stopped.

I know that using fresh herbs can sort out most of the everyday things, headaches, fever, relief of cold symptoms, anti septic etc...
The small stuff, it's always been used and it's pretty much what modern medicine is based on but it has it's place.

Little white balls of sugar and a few drops of other stuff... I am not so sure, basically you're saying that your body will heal itself naturally anyway. So what's the point....

Here's an example, Tuesday I went to the Doc for lung pains. Haven't been to Doc in this area yet, so I had to choose between someone that prefers using homepathy or, a normal GP.

Turns out I had pneumonia, I don't think I would have been happy with sugar balls if you can't breath again that night...

Someone should start a petition to close down the quackademic (homeopathy) medical schools at Wits and DUT.
They using our tax money to train these quacks to defraud the unsuspecting public.

Another petition should call to stop medical aid schemes paying out for this homeopathetic crap.
Medical Aid subscribers are also subsidizing this fraud.
