Honda Jazz 1.5 Dynamic (2015-)

Anybody here own one or have experience with one? I really can't fault the car except maybe for what feels like cheap plastics on the dashboard and maybe that it only has 5 forward gears instead of 6 which overseas models seem to have.

Not the worst but also not the best looking car but as far as practicality goes it's the class leader. It also feels like the car will outlast you

So, any comments?

I'd have to choose between white and orange if I go this route (silver is so boring). Not sure how much the orange would affect the resale/trade in.

Manual? Any "road noise" problems when at highway speeds?

It's a manual, there is road noise , not the quietest car around and seems to run out of gears in 5th, but overall great car. We use it as run around so not much hi way driving.

Meh, I'm over these small cars for now tbh

I'll rather wait for the new EcoSport, Juke and who knows what else before I make a decision. For now I'll rather stay debt free and save for a new car until I know exactly what I want.

(I'll still go test drive that Corsa 1.4 Sport though but seems they are very scarce atm)

I would rather shop around for a good second hand Jazz 2 1.5 Dynamic.
I was pretty disappointed with the SA spec level of the current Jazz, compared to overseas market. Before launch my wife was pretty excited to trade in the old one on a new, but the lack of updated engine and gearbox (both standard in overseas market), leather and pano roof, we decided against it.

SA Jazz 3 is just a new body with old trim and mechanicals.

All I can say is that it is quite shocking how expensive cars have gotten (especially if you consider the prices from just a year or so ago). A lot of them going fro R260k-R280k was going for R220k-R240k not so long ago. And the quality of the interiors are actually quite miff (hard plastics for the most part and the Jazz with that hideous gear knob looks like it comes out of the early 2000's).

These touch screens are mostly useless. Other than satnav there is no real point and the satnav systems are pathetic for these lower segment cars. The system in the Renault Clio for example ... stupid low quality. Some allow you to sync/mirror you phone onto the screen so you can use Google Maps, others like Mazda require you to pay an extra R8300 for an SD card to actually use the satnav (and it looks like somebody just presticked that a tablet to the dash :wtf: ).

Cheaper (and a way better system) to just mount a TomTom or Garmin or even your phone in the car.

Like I said, I'll wait for a hopefully better car to be released and save in the meantime (and buy another bike)
