Hey guys!

So i have a honeymoon to plan for October.
I'm leaning towards a beach house/Ocean side lodge etc.
With the view as well of the sound of the ocean from our room.

Obviously I don't want to break the bank, so I'm not really
looking for those 5 star luxury lodges that look absolutely awesome...
i would to go to one...but I cant afford such things.

Budget would be about 6k for 5 nights excluding flights
or around 9k including flights for 5 nights.

I was thinking somewhere in knysna...but haven't found much that suits
my criteria.

Please let me know what you guys have in mind :D!

I used this for my honeymoon and it was amazing. If it's Knysna you're after consider Brenton on sea

Seriously good service provided by this company, and it costs you no more than booking directly would cost.

Noah_ZA, I just did this thing last month. I hate it to say this, but 6k is really tight. Remember, even if you can get decent accommadation for this amount, you need about R200 a day for eating out. The other option is to go the self catering route, but these place are seldom as nice as a BB.

Yeah the more research I do the more my budget increases haha x)

Skip the honeymoon and put money on house.

We've done this plus some. Skipped the whole wedding too! We registered ourselves as civil partners and bought a house together essentially tying us together as financial partners with the same benefits etc as husband/wife. Now we have our 1st (my 2nd) wee one on the way. Happy as clams :) No crazy spending involved. Except the house. We broke the bank a bit on that one :p

Do you get the tax benefit too?

yeah we do. In fact we dont even need the civil partnership to have joint tax benefits. Since we've bought property together and it is our joint main address (i.e. we both live there) they automatically recognize the relationship and consider us fiscal partners. This is in NL by the way, not SA.
