This bloody situation about the 1st of November and Telscums hard capping is just a hopeless situation. When will it end. When will we have broadband like the rest of the world. This is just a real crap situation. It's like only being able to watch 3 days of TV per month.

A TV license will cost about the same as a 3Gb ISP account, so price wise it's a good anology to use.

As soon as South Africa has 30 Million ADSL subscribers. ;)

how can you get 30 Million subscribers when what I consider the absolute minimum (30 Gig a month) costs more than the average salary in South Africa?

do you think that they'd have even 1 million subsribers in the UK if they had to pay 2000 British pounds for ADSL?

You got my point ;)

It's a devil's spiral. As long as DSL is so expensive, noone will want to subscribe. As long as noone subscribes to DSL, it won't get cheaper. There are only two things that can happen to make DSL more affordable: either Telkom gets their fingers out of their behinds and starts realizing that they should do something about the DSL market - or some competition comes in, is willing to take a risk and rolls up the market. If that doesn't happen - see the title of the thread.

I can only shake my head and laugh. Telkom rolls out R17 Billion worth of cable to underserviced areas in accordance with it's contract, but no one uses them because the costs are to high, so they declare it a pointless wasteful exercise and let teh cable rot rather than drop prices . . .

Hope? Hope is all that seperates us from those who bought 2 years Telkom contracts.

Bah, I'm still hoping that Axxess pull some sort of white, furry rodent out of the hat. Or maybe Ivy finally buys a map so she can find her own ass with both hands!!

I'm sure should already be able to do that... All she does is sit on it, and judging by the amount of work that appears to be being done she sits on her hands aswell.
