I don't know what I'm hoping for here, but not much to lose... I've been out of work for over 6 months and if I don't find something REAL soon, I don't know what what I'm going to do. My savings are going to barely make it to the end of this month. I wake up at night wondering how one goes about arranging a shack in a squatter-camp. I've got a lot of job skills but no degree. I can learn software easily and use it efficiently, studied programming (at cti unfortunately) but never really did any, I've done a lot of office admin, data capture, stock control etc., I've been teaching myself html5/css3 recently hoping that would lead somewhere but I'm no good with gfx so not much use in web dev. I worked on kibbutz for a while, can do labour work too. Can anyone suggest something? I've been sending out my cv at least 10x a day for months for all sorts of positions at all levels. I've gone around to local supermarkets and dropped cvs off, asking them to keep me in mind for ANYthing - cashier, shelf packing, I don't care, I can do it and I can do it well - but they mostly just look at me like I'm mad. all I need is a roof over my head and enough money for food, I don't have or want a car, I'm happy with what I have in life, just need a job...

I guess I can ask if anyone here knows of any possibilities that might work for me... please PM. Thank you for reading.

sorry, I'm staying in Sandton but can relocate. 37 y/o male. white :( I have a wide range of skills, data-capture, stock/warehouse control, Pastel experience, customer service, I've managed a small office of about 10 people before, but have no piece of paper saying that I know something (I tore up my cti diploma once in a moment of anger - really hate those ppl. I suppose it can be reprinted but is it even worth it). I'm a hard worker, in several of my last positions my bosses gave me parting gifts acknowledging the effort I put in, as I do take my responsibilities very seriously.

Have you contacted any call centres?
Something like outsurance,discovery etc

They dont require too much in terms of experience or degrees.

http://www.outsurance.co.za/jobs/

Someone thats good with writing may also be able to give your CV a good makeover which could help.

If you're interested, PM me your email and I will send you the below two job adverts:
CALL CENTRE OPERATOR
Sales Coordinator

The jobs are in Alrode

It's CT but you said you're willing to relocate. Also note that they employ white males.

He closed his eyes to save me the trouble of having to add a black bar over them.

I think I saw 1 white dude behind a counter a MCDs once in my whole life. Thought they only employ a certain criteria type of person.

And nothing bad about working there.. job is job is job.
