Hi

I'd just like to warm everyone not to trust the Telkom Availability Checker. Because as usual, Telkom is useless and have created a broken checker.
My own experience is I've been phoning Telkom for about a week straight and they confirm my area supports 10mb, their availability checker also confirms this.

We then phoned Mweb to upgrade to 10mb (oh the nice happy feeling of almost having 10mb) to only be told that our exchange does not yet support 10mb.

We finally got put through to an intelligent person at Telkom who actually does their job and was told that the exchange will only be upgraded in between May - July 2013.

So everyone in the Bellville North area, expect to only be 10mb capable next year or in 2023.

And I wanted to ask, why is Telkom making Khayelitsha 20mb capable? (Heard in the news some time ago)

The availability checker shows my exchange can only sync at 1Mbps. But I was surprised to find out 2 weeks ago that my modem was syncing at 10mbps.
