Horse Racing - Bet Types

Hi All

Hoping someone can shed some light on this topic for me.
I've been betting on a few races recently by betting on Win or Place, but nothing more.

I'm trying to understand how the Tote side of it works, I've downloaded a document from tabonline which briefly describes the various types of bets on offer, Exacta, Quartet, Trifecta etc etc.

There is a section is the document called "How do I ask for it". It ends with "End off by stating how many times you wish to take the bet' - What does this mean?

I was hoping it would be as easy as, for example:
I put R20 on a race for an Exacta for horses 9, 1, 4, and 3. Obviously, I want any combination on 2 horses to take the 1st and 2nd place.

It also says, each permutation costs R1 - I thought each bet minimum was R6?

Any help will be appreciated

i see no-one has answered yet. Minimum bet cost apply to every bet except swingers were you can play a R3 bet, therefore it is R6 for that type of bet. Download the bet cost calculator on the tabonline site, then you will see what the cost of each of your bets are depending on how you want to play, and how many horses you want to select. Hope that is going to help. Otherwise this might turn into a long tutorial my friend.
