Hosted Exchange - When is it viable and when is it not

I am in the I.T. game, I was wondering if anyone has moved their customers or themselves onto Hosted Exchange. I see the Microsoft is doing it for $4 per user per month.

I worry about things like this because if something happens with your debit order do you get stopped immediately and also what happens if the Rand goes for a ball of .....

Just wondering what everyone elses thoughts are on this one?

Use Hosted Exchange at a local company. Exchange rate issue resolved. And services companies do not stop your service the second a payment is not made.

My thoughts on this one: Do more detailed and extensive research.

$4 isn't much considering the time it will save you in backups/maintenance etc.

Even if the Rand goes to a ball of ****, you'd adjust your prices you charge your client (assuming you charge your client, and this isn't for your company you work for internally)

I'm not sure about Microsoft itself, but if you're scared, maybe go with Rackspace Exchange Hosting. It's a bit more expensive than the $4 charged by MS (they charge $10 per user for 25gb mailbox with 50mb attachments), but their service is phenomenal (best spam/virus catchers ever IMO, next to GMail) and at any time you can switch to your own dedicated solution. For $2 extra a month you can buy an MS Outlook license also, so taking licensing off you as well.
