Chaps I need some help re my sites hosting , I have been with WA from the start and as time has gone by I had to upgrade my package due to traffic increase on my site , I am now at a corporate package which cost's me R456 which gives me 4000mb disk space with 40000mb local and 200000mb international traffic , I know previously this was much less but am not sure.

My problem is my site according to stats do about 5gb on average a month and I reckon we wont hit higher than 10GB in the near future (90% of traffic is local). I need to downgrade my package and by what I can see I can go as low as the standard package again which gives me 1000mb disk space (I am currently using 300mb after 2 years) and 10000mb local and 60000mb international traffic.

Am I correct ? Also I read mb ie megabits while my traffic is measured in MB ie megabytes ?? Is this correct ?

Also howcome is the international bandwidth more than the local ?

Thanks

Yes you are correct. And don't read into the whole mb/megabits thing.

Also, remember, if you're hosting locally the 10gig local applies to you. If you host international the 60gb international applies to you.

So the standard package on a local hosting with Web Africa would give you 10gb bandwidth transfer and 1gig disk space.

Just make sure the features you need are still in place, so if you're using a MS SQL database for example you'll have to go with the Elite at minimum because the standard package doesn't include access to a MS SQL database

If you are hosted in the US you get 60 gigs, if you are hosted in ZA you get 10 gigs. you do not get both at the same time. US bandwidth is so much cheaper.

Your hosting provider should certainly let you downgrade.

Agreed, but he should watch out for stuff he's using as some of that can be restrictive (like number of aliases or emails or MS SQL like I mentioned)

And a big +1 to this being re-iterated again.

If you host local, the local bandwidth applies.
If you host international, the international bandwidth applies.

International is a lot cheaper than local HOWEVER, the hosting limits Web Africa has for local these days are WAY more and WAY cheaper you'll find anywhere else. So it makes it viable to have your site hosted locally these days
