Hosting companies that only work "office hours"

I have to deal (and make plans, which is unheard of) with a website move between hosts during office hours because the current host can't give me access to the DNS server through Plesk "because it's on a different server" and won't do the DNS change for me after hours because they don't service requests after hours (I wonder what would happen if their server went down...)

So now I'm forced to do the mail & www switch during office hours (hopefully the ******* got my mail 15 minutes after he replied with his email, which was about 10 min ago that they only do that during office hours. So much for speedy reply, took him 5 hours almost....)

Ugh

I know I could just do a ticket request from co.za but that takes too long. Doing a website move during normal hours because the hosting company cannot be assed to do something after hours..... wtf! In the past 6 years of moving sites and **** I've had countless late nights moving **** for clients at 23:00 at night and checking them at 3am in the morning to see if the move was successful. OVER A WEEKEND.

I also recently had a client move and there's nothing more annoying then getting e - mails replied to the next day and also not on weekends, especially for a migration! You are more lucky - mine did not even use a control panel. Trouble is these are pretty large companies and their clients think it is the norm (or even good service!).

If you are a hosting company and are only available say 12 hours a day, then you should be ashamed.

It appears they're not even available for 12 hours... and the problem is they've gone against the Uniform rules & regulation and have all their mails set on the registration info, so I'm now forced to wait for them to return to the office on Monday, because even if I do a request ticket that will generally take a weekend to change on co.za, it won't be accepted. If the registered owner was my client (like it should have been in the first place) then I would've opted for that option because nobody is around to contest the vote to change the DNS settings.

I hate working with people like that... really... it's frustrating because I'll go out of my way over a weekend and early wee-hours to help clients migrate successfully. And it would really take him 5 minutes just to change the www and mail records...

AND ANOTHER THING THAT ANNOYS THE CRAP OUT OF ME IS WEBSITES OF BIG CORPORATES THAT FORCES YOU TO TYPE WWW! Holy ****! Type in, "blablabla.co.za" -> 404 not found (or gives me a broken link error in Chrome)... hellooo? if you want www, just do a ****ing 301 on *.blablabla.co.za!!!!
