Hello

Which local hosting company uses SQL Express 2008 please

THank you
Devan

I decided to take a look for myself and looked at three options: Hetzner, Afrihost and Web Africa.

Hetzner does not seem to advertise any Windows hosting options - you can try dropping them a mail to be sure, but you may be out of luck here.

Web Africa currently advertises SQL 2000/2005 on their website - however, you can ask them about SQL 2008; they're generally a pretty helpful bunch.

Afrihost just advertises SQL Server, they don't say which version. However, based on my previous hosting experience with them and other people's DSL experience with them, you may be advised to look elsewhere.

There are probably other options as well if you search hard enough. The three companies mentioned above are merely the ones that I am familiar with.

I have assumed shared hosting - if you want/need to go the dedicated server route, only your hosting provider's AUP limits what you may place on that server, and since SQL 2008 Express Edition is free, they wouldn't have a problem with that.
