A home in Samuel Street, Randhart was broken into on Thursday morning, August 1. Three suspects were apprehended as they ran from the scene.

According to a CPS Security employee, one of their reaction vehicles was in the same street where the break-in occurred when a home owner stopped the vehicle to tell them she had seen a suspect jump over from the house which had been broken into, onto her property. Back-up was called and a chase ensued, with all three suspects being caught. The suspects weren’t armed.

It’s believed the suspects gained entry through a sliding back door which they opened with a garden rake and stole small items including jewellery, which they threw away before they were apprehended. At the time of the break-in no one was home.

The suspects were taken to Alberton Police Station.

Unfortunately they will be back doing the same thing soon. This time they might even use a rake and perhaps they will then get away with it.
Well done for catching them though, even if the efforts will be dampened by the lack of any decent sentence if convicted at all.

I didn't know garden forks/rakes where capable of opening sliding doors.. :p
