How Active is COD: Modern Warfare 2?

If I were to hypothetically buy Modern Warfare 2, is most of the South African communtiy still playing or is it dead.

Looked like I had to make a new thread, don't see any dedicated MW2 threads ;)

Don't want to buy it then not play it like Bad Company 2 Vietnam, Battlefield 2 Special Forces (this was long ago) and so on...
 
There is still people play MW2 but it is difficult to find a public game so that you can level up if you do not have friends on your Steam friends list playing the game. You should be able to find an International game quite easily but local.......
 
There are quite a few people playing Hardcore Moshpit and Hardcore Team Deathmatch in the evenings from about 7pm till about 11pm during the week and most of the time over weekends(Locally).You should find 1 or 2 servers of each(These are public servers).

Make sure to add people to friends list when you find games,makes it so much easier :)
 
Its a staple of any lan I host with my mates, but I haven't played it online in over a year.
 
Keep an eye on steam, maybe they have it on special...? If you get it on steam and don't want to download the game, then just get the files from someone else and copy it into your steamapps folder.
