how are IS speeds post feb?

Yeah, the local problems have disappeared for me. Get a steady 62Kb/s on a 512 line. Haven't had any international problems as of yet (touch wood), though I haven't tried downloading anything big yet from int sites. Pages + ssh is quick, which is better than last month

Well, I am in Cape Town, and my IS speeds (local and Int) have been very unstable over the past 48 hours!!!

Changing from 1KB/s to 10KB/s ... Frustrating !!!!! :mad:

IS is very up and down.

But basically even local is slow. Email is usually instant, but today (monday) has been terrible here in cape town.

Then again everything is cape town is slow
 
Ever since Friday, I have had little no no connection. This is one of the few sites that I can access without any real issues.

I'm on 192Kbps and I now get max 10kBps for small stretches at a time, with
drops to 0 every few minutes.

The drops last for about 10 seconds to a minute at a time, so playing anything online is impossible.

As is browsing international sites. A large chunk of local sites are also inaccessible.

Words cannot express my anger and frustration...

Has anyone thought about sueing Telkom? I realize they cover themselves by saying this is a best-effort service, but this is not good enough to sell to anyone. I want my money back!
 
sorry not allowed to swear on a public forum, so I cannot tell you what the speeds are like, only that IS is a bunch of incompetent idiots that cannot manage their way out of a paper bag let alone an infrastructure. On any given day, only a third of their infrastracture is working, its either international, local or the news server, and never on the same day.

Ooops but I see its cloudy outside, we all know IS adsl does not work in cloudy weather, or sunny weather
