lately ive been having lots of disconnections... line struggles to sync... i was told long ago to divide those numbers by 10 to get the noise levels.. SNR down 6.4 up 10.9 according to the other forum on understanding noise levels 6 and below are just horrible.. also my attainable rate droped from around 10k to 2k... and im on a 4mbps line as u can see im not getting the right speeds... telkom was working on the lines last week and whatever they did buggered up my line even more than it used to be.

but the point of this thread is to ask are my SNR and attunation levels ok?

Attenuation 41.5 db Down
31.1db Up
SNR Margin 6.4 Down
10.9 Up

You should be able to get 4096 kbps with that attenuation, but there is way to much noise on that line to hold it, I would listen for crackling and noise on your line with a telephone, then contact Telkom and report a fault stating noise on the line

i have.. its been 6 months ive been having dc problems during storms.. been contacting telkom alot.. all they did was send a technician over.. was a nice guy gave me his number said if it still dc's he'll come again and replace the line going from our house to the poll.. called back said he would come.. never came

also last week they did something to our line which now dc's all the time randomly and getting 30 kbps international speeds and 200 kbps local on a 4 mpbs line also the house phone is dead now. logged a fault again today hopefully something will happen...

really doubtful when it comes to telkom
