How cable thieves and load-shedding ruin Internet

Weirdly, Vodacom in my area used to eat shet when load-shedding happened, now this last round of load-shedding, Vodacom has not only been up but also fast.

They got some batteries or generator.

Can't wait till starlink becomes available, no need to worry about satellite batteries being stolen.

Business can mitigate the problem by installing inverters and a SD-WAN that bonds fixed wireless and fibre.
What baffles me is why many businesses do neither then claim to be losing millions. Millions I tell you.
The cost of a resilient SD-WAN is about R2500 a month and an inverter is about R12k. Small price to pay to save those millions.

The short and sweet is, that if SA Telecommunication providers can't find solutions of implementing ways to prevent theft of batteries or vandalism they are going to lose much more when SpaceX Starlink Sattellite internet arrives.
